The Institute was raised as Army Skill Development Centre at Ambala Cantt and upgraded to full fledged Army ITI in Aug 1998. It was inaugurated on 18 Aug 1998 by Gen VP Malik, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, the then COAS. Army ITI has been set up as per the norms and guidelines laid down by the Director General of Employment and Training (DGE&T), Ministry of Labour, Govt of India.The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training as per Govt of India, Ministry of Labour (DGE&T) New Delhi letter No 12/1/99-TC dt 04 Nov 99, DGE&T 12/1/2000-TC dt 13 Nov 2000.JCOs/OR qualifying the written test and practical arranged by Director Industrial Training and Vocational Education, Haryana are awarded National Trade Certificate which is valid through out India for Govt jobs and private employment. The Institute, located in a green and serene environment in Ambala Cantonment is imparting training in six different trades. These trades have been selected after intense interaction with industry and the trainees of the institute are in great demand all over the industries in Northern India. Almost all desirous candidates find jobs even before they pass out from the Institute.
